Robotics

Gabrielle Stassart (ESO 2) /

Building a robot and learning to programme it can be a fascinating experience

A few weeks ago there was an opportunity for Primary students to do a new workshop at School - Robotics. In this workshop participants learn how to build build their own robot from Lego bricks with a CPU that governs the actions of the robot. Once they finish designing and building it, they can plan their actions with a special programme and, through the computer, make it move and interact with the environment.
They work in small groups (2 or 3 students per robot), which makes it an even more rewarding experience as it encourages teamwork, making arrangements and so on.
In the words of students themselves, the workshop is proving to be a wonderful experience for them and they are all having a great time and at the same time learning a lot.
