Portals Rhythmic Gymnastic Camp
From Christmas 2008 until
today, you could say that Sports have come a long way in the Agora Portals
School. This has been a journey which I have had the honour of helping to
create and I feel very proud of this.
Since then, I have had the privilege of seeing how
our students have started in the world of rhythmic gymnastics by my side and I
have been able to appreciate how they have grown as gymnasts and as people. We look
forward to seeing you! Happy holidays!
The demand for this sport has greatly increased
between 2009 and 2010. This means it is a sport which students of our school
like. Moreover, this year we have ventured to take our first steps in the world
of club competition achieving important and very good results. Therefore
I consider it to be a very interesting and enriching opportunity both for
students and for me as a coach, to carry out a rhythmic gymnastics summer camp
this year.
The main objectives we want to
promote are: work, respect, the culture of perseverance and team spirit among
the members of the school gymnasts’ team and, consequently, support and
encouragement to the club. We also intend to learn, develop and implement
sports habits such as sports hygiene, personal hygiene, nutrition and injury
prevention.
We also hope that the participants will enjoy sharing experiences
together in groups while they practice their favourite sport and that they will
learn about and improve technical aspects of the gymnastics world by applying
them to the way they practice it.
In short, the idea is to address next season having created a solid foundation of work on technical aspects of movement, position in ballet, fitness as well as creativity and music.
What is the Àgora Portals Rhythmic Summer Camp 2010?
This is a course organized at a leisure-sporting level where we have a number of activities related to the sports world and more specifically with rhythmic gymnastics.
We want to encourage work, discipline,
fun and perseverance through a world as exciting as that of this sport.
Health is, of course, also one of the most fundamental principles
of Àgora
Portals Rhythmic Summer Camp 2010, as both exercise and
nutrition at breakfast time, will be carefully treated (advised by a dietitian.)
In addition, during the Summer
camp the students will receive two hours of lessons in a basic language in our
school and the future of our students, English.
The duration of the Camp is one week, which is divided into five
sessions held from Monday to Friday. The total is 4 hours and a half each day, i.e.
22 hours per week.
The schedule on a day of Àgora Portals Rhythmic Summer Camp 2010 starts at 9:00 am and concludes at 13:30
noon, before lunch.
From 9:00 to 11:00 they will do warming up exercises followed by rhythmic
gymnastics physical training. Then at 11:00, they will be given breakfast and
they will have a while to unwind and chat with their friends until 11:30.
At 11:30 they will go back to
class and work alternately either on dance or working with one of the
apparatus. Then at 12:30 they will be taken to the pool changing rooms where
they will carry out 30 minutes of swimming and 30 minutes of aquatic games,
always under the control of an adequate number of instructors to the number of
gymnasts.
At 13:20 they will be escorted back to the changing rooms where
they can shower and change to be ready to leave the camp at 13:30.
The dates will be located within the month of July and will last
for two weeks, or what is the same, two Camps. They will take place the first
or the second half of July depending on the availability of the instructors.
Who is it aimed at?
The Portals Rhythmic Summer
Camp 2010 is aimed at
children aged between 6 and 18. This is an open camp limited to a number of
25-30 registrations and has 2 instructors / technical coaches.
Two groups are
expected to be made in order to optimize work and prioritize quality. Enrolment is open to students inside and outside the
school of all different levels. We look forward to seeing you!
