International Baccalaureate at Portals

David Kaisin (IB Coordinator) and Daniel Resch (IB Student) / Actual Edu

We have already laid the first bricks for the path of International Baccalaureate at Portals. One of the most important educational challenges at regional level is now a reality.

We have already laid the first bricks for the path of International Baccalaureate at Portals. One of the most important educational challenges at regional level is now a reality.

Our first candidates to obtain the diploma awarded by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) are fully involved in an intensive dynamic of study and work, which will help them in the near future to develop their skills in a systematic and rigorous way.

In addition, the IB diploma is a qualification which is highly demanded by prestigious international universities around the world.

Apart from their daily work, our high school students recently had the opportunity to attend a talk given by Mrs. Rosanna Montalbano, from the OSC Institute, specializing in promoting the IB worldwide.

The Institute organizes seminars and workshops to analyse in depth the programmes offered in the different IB subjects. The central theme of the talk was: "Study skills: how to become an effective learner, working memory, flexible reading and finding the motivation to keep going."

Ms. Montalbano, in less than an hour, was able to synthesize and share basic ideas and key points in tackling these two years, which close a cycle in the life of every student. In front of a motivated and participatory audience, our lecturer did not cease to encourage students and answer questions related to the IB and to access British and American universities.

From here, we thank Mrs. Rosanna for her dedication and interest. We also congratulate Daniel Resch for his initiative in making such an illustrious visit possible.
