Created by the Belgian author Georges Remi (Hergé), Tintin's adventures consist of a total of 24 albums, the first of which was published in 1930 and the last in 1976.

In the series, along with Tintin, an intrepid  youthful reporter whose age is never specified and who travels around the world with his dog Snowy, we meet a number of supporting characters who have achieved as much - or more - fame as the protagonist, including Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, detectives Thomson and Thompson and the singer Bianca Castafiore.

The adventures of these characters are carefully set in real-world scenarios from the five continents as well as imaginary places created by Herge, such as San Theodoros or Syldavia. Especially from the fifth album of the series (The Blue Lotus), the author documented thoroughly the places visited by the characters.

For the Spanish-speaking countries, the publication of the Tintin albums was in the hands of the Youth Editorial Barcelona. The Spanish translator of all the albums was Concepción Zendrera, the  daughter of the founder and owner of the editorial, José Zendrera Fecha. Zendrera was also responsible for the Spanish names of some characters, such as Hernandez and Fernandez (Dupond and Dupont in the original) or Silvestre Tornasol (Tryphon Tournesol in the original).

There are many similarities between characters in Tintin and Star Wars, of which I mentioned some and which can be seen in the pictures accompanying the.

• Tintin and Luke Skywalker

• Snowy and R2D2

• Haddock and Obi Wan

• Rascapopulos and Darth Vader

• Tintin goes from country to country and Luke goes from planet to planet.

• Luke has gone to jungles, deserts, and seas ... just like Tintin.

On the other hand, it should also be noted that in the Tintin books there are many evil characters, among which are: Rastapopulos, Dr. Muller and Colonel Sponsz. Luke is always pursued by  Darth Vader.

Note that Luke is nearly eaten by a yeti on the planet Hoth, and a Rancor on the planet Tatoine. Tintin is almost eaten by a Yeti in Tibet, and by a huge gorilla called Ranco in Scotland.

As you can see our two heroes are very similar in terms of adventures, places and supporting characters.

· Both Tintin and Luke are young and brave.

· Captain Haddock and Obi Wan are older and give them their experience and wisdom.

· Snowy and R2D2 have often helped the heroes in danger.

· The two heroes have been in space. One to the Moon and one in the galaxies.
